Specifically, Pennsylvania offers additional relief checks to low-income homeowners. If you qualify for the Property Tax Rent/Rebate, you will receive a one-time tax credit. To qualify, homeowners must be 65 or older, widows and widowers age 50 or older, or disabled people age 18 or older, CNBC reported.

This discount is in addition to the discount posted in 2021. The discount should be posted in September 2022, it will be 70% of the discount posted in 2021.
If you get a $650 refund in 2021, the second deduction should be $455, according to the Internal Revenue Service website.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is asking for $2,000 guarantee checks to help residents set prices at grocery stores and gas stations.
On Monday, Wolf appeared in Allegheny County to urge the Republican-led state assembly to pass his PA Benefit Plan, which would provide $2,000 payments to families earning less than $80,000 a year. It is estimated that if the program is accepted, it will receive 250,000 applicants, which will cost up to $500 million.
“We have these funds available. It is not fair to withhold them from taxpayers,” the governor tweeted. Wolf noted that there is $15 billion in the state budget.
The plan was introduced in February as part of Wolf's budget proposal but was withdrawn during negotiations. Now he's calling on state lawmakers to act to provide additional relief.

"This money will change the lives of families in communities around the world by providing much-needed relief from artificial and temporary inflation," Wolf said in a statement Monday. we put that money back into the pockets of Pennsylvanians to help cover the high cost of gas, utilities and everything else.
Pennsylvania Republicans rejected Wolf's proposal, saying bailouts would worsen inflation and raise consumer prices. Wolf disputed these claims, saying his plan was too narrow and the payments were small enough that they would be less than one-tenth of one percent of the state's GDP.
While the US inflation rate has begun to fall since peaking at 9.1 percent in May - a 40-year high - rising costs are a major concern as Americans head to the polls in November.

A poll published by the Family Foundation this month found that nearly 75 percent of voters said inflation and high gasoline prices were the top poll topics.
While Wolf's plan in Pennsylvania is on hold, other states have already begun introducing relief checks for residents. In California, some received tax refunds of up to $1,050, while an estimated 6.2 million Illinois taxpayers will receive payments by September 12.
Next month, Alaska residents will receive $3,200 in direct payments, a move approved as part of the state's annual budget.
"This budget is more than a spending plan, it's a blueprint for Alaska's future," said Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy. "Budgets should reflect the values and aspirations of the people they are intended for, and I believe this bill does that."

While the payment is the second largest in Alaska history, it is still a decrease from the $5,500 payment originally approved by the state Senate. The State House will not sign.
