The front sight on the LCR is quite large for such a small pistol. And it's easy to grab from the wide back notch. Ruger uses white markings on the serrated front ramp to help you aim.
While I found the shots to work well for fixed range shooting But in my opinion, not ideal - for the stress of self defense. for serious work I believe a large, bright, contrasting front sight is the way to go.
Fortunately, many companies offer aftermarket options. and because the front sight is bolted in place It's an easy trade to do without a gunsmith. Here are some LCR attractions to consider:
Compared to the hard pull of Ruger's SP101, the LCR 357 felt like a smooth custom job. Additionally, the LCR I shot had a much smoother trigger pull than my Smith and Wesson 642.

The only complaint I have with the trigger is my tendency to short strokes. If you pull the trigger and want to reset the trigger You can stroke a carbine.
You must let the trigger go all the way before pulling it again. This is the only place my 642 can beat the Ruger—the 642 spring is very strong and really squeezes the trigger. which prevents short strokes
It's funny But I discovered a problem with the short strokes. This was when I was in the area by none other than Massad Ayoob. We had a chance meeting at Range Day before the SHOT Show and the two of them shot each other. He immediately saw my problem and dealt with me.
The balance of the weapon is very good. Compared to the .38, the weight of this model seems to be shifted forward. This seems to help keep the muzzle elevated during recoil.

Recoil in snub guns is always a concern. Even the .38 Special round can have quite a bit of kick depending on the gun. The lighter the gun, the more recoil you will feel.
However, ergonomics and construction come into play. Ruger's use of Hogue recoil grips combined with polymer "flex" in the grip portion of the frame combine to reduce hand sting.
Shooting .38 ammo is easy. I estimated that the recoil was reduced by the same load in my Smith & Wesson 642.
Loading the full power magnum was easier than I expected. But I still felt quite a punch with each round.

I ran a couple of .38 loads and a couple of . 357 Magnum through my Ruger LCR as I mentioned above. They are absolutely reliable.
Essentially, the Ruger LCR 357 is more accurate than you can carry. To see maximum accuracy You will need to take breaks.
However, rest is not something you will have in a self-defense situation. So I shot the pistol unsupported at 7 yards and measured the best 5-shot group:

Some may not like the modern look of the gun. But I didn't give up. Personally, it's a neat gun and I expect it to continue to sell well.
The LCR 357 is an excellent pocket pistol or backup weapon for police officers. Except for all the "normal" CCW patterns, compared to the current micro-compact trouser feed. It's light on the ankles and the pockets.
Full retail price for the gun is $829. I expect most places will have the gun for less.

One of my best friends lives in Montana and carries a .357 LCR when he and his family go hiking. A .357 will easily handle most cougars or even bears in North America. Still, the .38 Special is better control But less powerful than its big brother (.357), the .38 Special also makes a more rewarding training round.
Over the past three weeks, I have fired over 300 rounds of .357 Mag., .38 Special and .38 Special +P without a single malfunction. Because the barrel of a revolver is its chamber. So you can never miss feeding the LCR No external hammer. which are less movable parts that prevent The LCR is double acting only. But it actually works more like a two-stage trigger than when you fire it. when you pull the trigger The cylinder rolls inside the battery. After three quarters of the way the trigger was pulled. You will feel the roller lock into place. Then you only have one last quarter to fire the gun.
The last quarter pull is very smooth and feels like a single action stage trigger pull. This allows you to avoid the jerk of some double-action revolvers after the trigger is pulled.
